Wednesday, January 03, 2007 Mr. Kenneth Charles “Cannonball” Fuquea , age 70 , of 504 Boulevard Heights, Calhoun, died Tuesday January 2nd in Redmond Regional Medical Center. Mr. Fuquea was born in Gordon County on Feb. 4, 1936 son of the late Raymond and Floy Denney Fuquea and had spent his entire life here. He was a member of the Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church and was in the General Merchandise Business for years. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother; Larry Fuquea and two grandsons; Brandon and Staphen Nix. Survivors include his wife of 48 years; Yvonne Smith Fuquea, One son and his wife; Kenny and Kelly Fuquea of Calhoun, two daughters and their husbands; Kelly and David Brittain of Calhoun and Kim and Scott Nix of Dalton, six sisters; Joan Roach, Donna Couch, Janet Thomason, Betty Butler, Lana Greeson and Vicki Hicks all of Calhoun, and a brother; Gary Fuquea also of Calhoun. Five grandchildren; Owens Fuquea, Lacey Fuquea, Shade Nix, Caleb Nix and Turner Brittain. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Friday January 5th. from the Chapel of the Thomas Funeral Home with Dr. Bert Vaughn and Rev. Larry Naylor officiating. Interment will follow in the Fain Cemetery. Pallbearers serving include; Chance Hicks, Mitch Butler, Trent and Heath Thomason, Richard Greeson and Mike Lee. Honorary escort will be Kevin Smith, Heath Smith, Larry Lovell, Michael Roach and Mike Langston and all these gentlemen are asked to meet at the Thomas Funeral Home at 1:45 P.M. on Friday. The family will receive friends at Thomas Funeral Home from 5:00 until 8:00 P.M. on Thursday Jan. 4th. The family requests that in addition to flowers contributions be made to the Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church Building Fund at 365 Wesley Chapel Rd. , Calhoun, Ga. 30701.
