Kimberly “Kim” Ellis, age 63 of Calhoun, Georgia, passed away on Friday, April 7th.

 

Kim was born on July 18, 1959, in Knox County, Tennessee, to the late Arthur L. Garrett and Nellie Faye Simmons Garrett. She was a graduate of Gibbs High School class of 1977. Kim moved to Calhoun, Georgia in 1995 and was employed with Floyd Hospital as a security supervisor for eighteen years at the time of her death. She loved Tennessee football, and she loved her Calhoun Yellow Jackets, where she followed both the football and wrestling teams.

 

Besides her parents, she was proceeded in death by a son-in-law, Michael Rhodes, and brother-in-law, Bob Harvey.

 

Survivors include her daughter, Krystin Rhodes Brock and her husband Robert; three sisters Judie Goins and her husband Dave, Pat Harvey, and Vickie Warren and her husband Steve. Three grandchildren, Christopher Ellis, Derrick Ellis, and Michaela Rhodes. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

 

Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, April 11th at 2:00 PM from the chapel of
Thomas Funeral Home with Dr. Bert Vaughn officiating. Jim and Treva Sellars will have charge of the music. Burial will follow in Chandler Cemetery.

 

Pallbearers include Christopher Ellis, Derrick Ellis, Tommy Harvey, Bobby Harvey, Matt Warren, and Truitt Hayworth.

 

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, April 11th beginning at 12:00 PM until the funeral hour.
