Larissa Hurst Boston, a beloved wife, mother, sister, and grandmother, passed away on Tuesday, November 11, 2025, at Emory Hospital in Atlanta. Born on March 1, 1965, in Atlanta, she touched the lives of many throughout her 60 years with her infectious spirit and unparalleled kindness.
Before her retirement, Larissa along with her two daughters owned and operated the Cotton and Twine Boutique, a place that quickly became well-loved in the community. Her keen eye for fashion and unwavering dedication to her business mirrored her personality as a true people person; she loved everyone and made it her mission to spread joy and warmth wherever she went.
Above all, Larissa found her greatest happiness in her family. She was the proud mother of two daughters, Camellia (Derek) Phillips and Miranda (Andrew) Bentley. Her grandchildren, Josephine Bentley, James Bentley, and Ramsey Phillips, were her pride and joy, bringing light and laughter into her life. She adored them and relished every moment spent together, celebrating their milestones and nurturing their dreams.
Her steadfast support extended beyond her immediate family. Larissa enjoyed spending time with her family including her father and step-mom, Larry and Carolyn Hurst, and her siblings and their families, including her brother Daniel (Jacque) Hurst and sister Christina Harrison, as well as her niece Alyssa Hurst, nephews Zach Hurst, Noah Harrison, and niece Emily Harrison. Each relationship was a testament to her love, which transcended every gathering, every holiday celebration, and every cherished memory shared.
Larissa and John's marriage was characterized by mutual respect and an enduring bond that served as a model for those around them. Together, they built a life filled with laughter, love, and shared dreams.
Larissa is predeceased by her mother, Janie Whitfield Hurst, and her brother-in-law, Robert Harrison. Though they are no longer with her, Larissa's legacy of kindness, love, and compassion will continue to shine through her family and friends.
The visitation for Larissa will take place on Saturday, November 15, 2025, from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM, followed by a funeral service at 2:00 PM at Thomas Funeral Home, with Rev. Tim Chaney officiating. Burial will follow in Fain Cemetery.
As we celebrate her life, we remember a woman who truly embodied love in all its forms—a loving wife, doting mother, and devoted grandmother whose impact on our lives will forever be cherished.
