Larry Walter Cochran

Mr. Larry Walter Cochran age 86, of Calhoun, GA, passed away on Thursday, September 10th, 2026.

Mr. Cochran was born in Gordon County, Georgia on November 11, 1939, a son of the late George V. Cochran and the late Helen Johnson. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Jane Priscilla Goldsmith Cochran. Mr. Cochran served as the President of Marketing for Marathon Oil Company until his retirement.

He enjoyed fishing, antiquing, and playing poker. Mr. Cochran was a member of Calhoun First Baptist Church.  

Survivors include his sons, Mark W. Cochran and Michael Cochran, daughters-in-law Diana Cochran and Helena Cochran-Jones, grandsons Joseph W. Cochran and Anthony M. Cochran, and step-grandson Ron Tedder.

Funeral Services will be conducted on Tuesday, September 15th, 2026, at 1 PM from the Chapel of Thomas Funeral Home with Dr. Bert Vaughn officiating. Interment will follow in Fain Cemetery at a later date. 

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, September 15th from 12 PM until 1 PM at the funeral home. 

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
