Friday, August 24, 2007 Mr. Lesley C.“Les” Holbert, age 43 of 149 Iracille Lane, Calhoun, died Thursday August 23rd. at his residence following injuries received in a fall. Les was born in Floyd County on October 19, 1963 son of the late William C. “Bunk” Holbert and Vernie Beets Holbert who survives him. He was a member of the Fellowship Baptist Church and was Owner & Operator of B.& L Contractors. Survivors in addition to his mother include; one son; Trevor Holbert of Calhoun, two daughters; Lauren and Leah Meyer both of Calhoun, one brother; Barry Holbert and his wife Brooke of Calhoun along with a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at 4:00 P.M. Saturday August 25th. from the Chapel of the Thomas Funeral Home with Rev. Gene Clark, Rev. Terry Timms and Rev. Jimmy Timms officiating. Interment will follow in the Fain Cemetery. Pallbearers serving include Allan Bailey, Reed Beerdon, Chris Hales, Mike Hales, Chuck Poarch, Richie Richard, Larry Dixon, Rusty Holbert and Scott Jones and they are asked to meet at the funeral home at 3:30 P.M. Saturday. Kenny Seabolt will have charge of the music. The Family will receive friends at the funeral home after 7:00 P.M. Friday.
