Linda Rutledge Young

Linda Rutledge Young, age 78 of Resaca, GA, passed away on Friday, February 11, 2022 at AdventHealth Gordon.

Linda was born on May 9, 1943 in Gordon County, GA, daughter of the late Mack Owen Rutledge and “Momma Lois” Freeman Rutledge. In addition to her parents, Linda was also preceded in death by: her husband, Samuel (Sam) Phillip Young in 1999; and two brothers, Jack Rutledge and C.L. Rutledge. She was a lifetime resident of Gordon County, GA and a member of Resaca Baptist Church. Linda loved the Lord with all her heart.

Linda is survived by: one daughter, April Harris and her husband Tony of Dalton, GA; two sisters, Ida Ruth Anderson of Calhoun, GA and Sandy Rutledge Adams and Dean of Resaca, GA; God-daughter, Elizabeth Witt of Dalton, GA; one niece, Brooke Knight and her husband Chris; three nephews, Brent Rutledge, Randall Rutledge, and Greg Lowman; and special cousin, Betty Ann Griffith Jones.

A celebration of the life of Linda will be held on Tuesday, February 15, 2022 at 5:30 PM from the Chapel of Thomas Funeral Home with Reverend Harold Blackstock officiating.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, February 15, 2022 from 4 PM until the service at 5:30 PM at Thomas Funeral Home.
