Lois Thomas Ray

Lois Thomas Ray, age 85 of Cartersville, passed away on Saturday, December 7, 2019 at her residence after a long illness with cancer. Lois was born on June 17, 1934 in Gordon County to the late Martin Cecil Thomas and Nellie Vaughan Thomas. In addition to her parents, Lois was also preceded in death by: her husband, Paul Howard Ray; and son, Reginald Thomas Ray. Lois was a member of Plainview Baptist Church, and prior to her retirement worked as a mortgage banker. Lois is survived by: her son, Wayne Ray of Cartersville; daughter Paulette Phillips; brother, Hugh C. Thomas and his wife Martha; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Many nieces, nephews, and friends also survive. Funeral Services will be conducted on Wednesday, December 11th at 12 PM at Plainview Baptist Church with Rev. Larry Hibberts and Rev. Gary Hibberts officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, December 10th from 5 PM until 7 PM at Thomas Funeral Home.
