Lois Stone

Lois Thomas Stone, age 95 of Calhoun, passed away on Friday, September 29, 2017 in Gordon Health Care. Lois was born on September 6, 1922 in Gordon County to the late Arthur W. Thomas and Katie Langston Thomas. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Dorsey Stone; two brothers, Virgil Thomas, and Roy Thomas; two sisters, Frances Dobson, and Gladys Faulkinberry; and sister-in-law, Frances Thomas. Lois was a lifetime resident of Gordon County, and was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church and recently attended Reeves Baptist Church. Lois is survived by her daughter, Nancy Sharp; brother, Howard Thomas; sister, Marlyn Nix; two grandchildren, Chris Richards, and Jennifer Smith; five great-grandchildren, Braxton Richards, Brittany Smith, Lylee Hobgood, Payton Richards, and Will Murry; one great-great-grandchild, Kayden Smith. A special friend, Edwin Fox; and special caregivers, Toby Satterfield, Lacy Byrn, and Manisa Goodnight also survive. Funeral Services will be conducted on Sunday, October 1st at 3 PM from the Chapel of Thomas Funeral Home with Reverend Jim Burns officiating. LaBreeska Harris will have charge of music. Burial will follow in Fain Cemetery. Pallbearers serving are Eddie Richards, Braxton Richards, Leroy Taylor, Daniel Marvel, Dennis Thomas, and Toby Pass. The family will receive friends on Sunday prior to the funeral service from 1 PM until the funeral hour at 3PM at Thomas Funeral Home.
