Louise Lewis

July 23, 1937 — December 30, 2025

Louise Greeson Lewis, age 88 of the Red Bud Community, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday,

December 30, 2025 after months of declining health. Born in Gordon County, GA, on July 23, 1937,

she is the daughter of the late Daisy Stokes Greeson and Alex Greeson. She is one of 10 children,

including James, Billy, Jean, Annette, Charles, Jan, Linda, Kenny, and Sherrie. She was preceded in

death by: a son-in-law, Russell Barnette; brothers, James Greeson and Charles Greeson; and sisters,

Linda Greeson Gilbert and Annette Greeson Ponder. She was a lifelong member of Evergreen

Baptist Church.


Louise attended Resaca Elementary School, and is a 1955 graduate of Red Bud High School. After

high school she lived in Bradenton, Florida, where she attended beautician school. She also lived in

Atlanta, GA for a short time and was employed as a telephone operator for Southern Bell. In 1958

she married  the man who would be her beloved husband of 54 years, Troy Lewis, also from the

Red Bud Community. They settled in Flint, Michigan, and had 3 children, Pam (Rick) Tippens of

Calhoun, Gayla (Charles) Dunson of Red Bud, and John Lewis of Calhoun. In 1967 they moved the

family to Fenton, Michigan where the family enjoyed a friendly neighborhood, and lake where lifelong

memories were made.


Louise was employed at Hamady Brothers Grocery Store in Fenton, Michigan in the meat department

for 19 years. In 1989 Troy and Louise retired and moved back to the Red Bud Community and

enjoyed their retirement days visiting with family and friends. They both enjoyed going to Evergreen

Baptist Church every Sunday until they were physically unable to attend. They were the proud

grandparents to 8 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-granddaughter. After

retirement Louise especially enjoyed spending time with all of her sisters, going to yard sales and

many weekend trips to Gatlinburg. She loved all of her many nephews and nieces, to whom she was

affectionately known as “Aunt Lou-Lou.”


The family would like to give special thanks to Morning Pointe Assisted Living and Memory Care of Calhoun for their loving care of Mrs. Lewis.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, January 6, 2026 from 5 PM until 7 PM at Thomas Funeral

Home.

Funeral Services will be conducted on Wednesday, January 7, 2026 at 3 PM from the Chapel of

Thomas Funeral Home with Andy Barnette officiating. Burial will follow in Haven of Rest Memorial

Park.

Pallbearers serving include: Ethan Dunson, Elliott Dunson, Andy Barnette, Austin Lee, Adam

Barnette, Brandon Jones, Devan Lewis, and Nick Carney.

Honorary Pallbearers are: Bruce Blalock, Nick Blalock, and Tino Butler.
