Luis R. Ramirez

Luis R. Ramirez, age 86 of Calhoun, GA, passed away on Saturday, October 3, 2026 at AdventHealth Gordon.

Luis was born on February 18, 1940 in Guanajuato, Mexico, son of the late Salud Ramirez and Conselo Ruiz. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Hilda Josefina Ramirez. Luis was a member of the Catholic faith and attended St. Clement Catholic Church. Before retiring, he worked as a truck driver for Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railway. He loved spending time outdoors, especially fishing and camping. Luis also enjoyed soccer and baseball, especially his favorite baseball team, the Chicago White Sox.

Luis is survived by: his wife, Maria Aurora Ramirez; his seven children, Jose Luis Ramirez, Veronica Ramirez, Miriam Ramirez, Luis C. Ramirez, Elena Villanueva, Florencio Ramirez, and Pablo E. Ramirez; one brother, Juan Salud Ramirez; two sisters, Rebecca Hernandez and Ramona Carrillo; twenty-eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, October 8, 2026 from 2 PM until 8 PM at Thomas Funeral Home.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, October 9, 2026 at 10 AM at St. Clements Catholic Church with Father Vanderley Alves De Oliveira officiating. Burial will follow in Chandler Cemetery.
