Margaret Marie Ronk

Margaret Marie “Marge” Ronk, age 78 of Calhoun, GA, passed away on Friday, June 12, 2026 at her residence.

Marge was born on June 21, 1947 in Blue Island, Illinois, daughter of the late Paul William Schmidt and Shirley Ruth Neering Schmidt Creager. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by: her husband, William Asa “Bill” Ronk. Marge was a member of St. Clements Catholic Church. She was the past president and active member of St. Vincent de Paul Society. Marge was an all-around crafter who loved sewing and made all of her children’s clothes. She treasured time with family and friends, creating memories together, and especially enjoyed ladies’ night playing Bunco.

Marge is survived by: three daughters, Verneva (Phillip) Henson, Jennifer Ronk, and Amanda (Billy) Thompson; two sons, John (Tammy) Proper and Mike (Rose) Proper; five sisters, Paulette Chaparro, Mary Carter, Arlo Casper, Laura Primm, and Ann Shifferd; two brothers, Daniel Schmidt and Joseph Schmidt; eleven grandchildren, Ashley (Josh) Patterson, Steven (Lasha) Proper, Brittany (Jonathan) Stephens, Ethan (Greyson Mae) Mitchell, Dakota (Jasmine) Mitchell, Seth Ronk, Shalonda Bowden, MacKenzie Henson, Kodi Henson, Ty Thompson, and Lauren (Art) Silva; and thirteen great-grandchildren, Trent, Kimsey, Dustin, Hilary, Ally, Boyd, Leila, Mayleigh, Noah, Harper, Thatcher, Elle, and Lucy.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, June 14, 2026 from 5 PM until 8 PM at Thomas Funeral Home.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, June 15, 2026 at 2 PM at St. Clements Catholic Church with Father Praveen officiating. Burial will follow in Mount Pleasant Cemetery.

Pallbearers serving include: Seth Ronk, Steven Proper, Ty Thompson, Jonathan Stephens, Josh Patterson, and Scott Brooks.
