Margie Bates Evans

Margie Bates Evans, age 70 of Calhoun, GA, passed away on Wednesday, January 14, 2026 at her residence.

Margie was born on June 14, 1955 in Atlanta, GA, daughter of the late Thomas Bates and Ruth Wilson Bates. In addition to her parents, Margie is preceded in death by her husband, David Ashley Evans. Prior to her retirement, Margie worked as a nurse for United Hospice.

Margie is survived by: three sons, Timothy Evans, Tony Parker, and Donnie Moore; sister, Sissy Fischel; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

A celebration of the life of Margie will be held at a later date.
