Wednesday, August 22, 2007 Mrs. Martha T. Stone, age 86 of 102 Stone Loop, Calhoun, died Tuesday evening in the Kenneystone Hospital, Marietta, Ga. Mrs. Stone was born in Bartow County, Ga. on June 16th. 1921 daughter of the late Henry Grady Tate and Ada Shope Tate. She was a member of the Oothcalooga Baptist Church in Adairsville but, now attended the New Town Baptist Church. For a number of years she was the Co-Owner and operator of Stones Kitchen and until her retirement she was Co-Owner and Operator of Belwood Nursery. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Billy M. Stone in 2003 and an infant son. Survivors include two sons; Ray Stone and his fiance’ Wanda Holcomb of Calhoun and Regan Stone also of Calhoun, one daughter; Anne Stone Kelley and her husband Larry of Calhoun, Four brothers; J.B.and Doyle Tate both of Florida, Lawrence Tate of N. Carolina and Vinson Tate of Rome, Four sisters; Ira Mae Stephens of Adairsville, Eva Richardson of Calhoun, Betty Ruth Godfrey of Chattanooga, Tn. and Helen Anne Davenport of Calhoun. A special friend; Sally Pearl Lane along with special caregivers; Pat Kiker, Sandra Strickland, and Doris Daniel. Six grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, four step-grandchildren and 4 step-great-grandchildren also survive, along with a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Friday August 24th. from the New Town Baptist Church with Rev. David Ray and Brent Davis officiating. Interment will follow in the Blackwood Springs Cemetery. Pallbearers serving include Dana Causby, Ivan Causby, Max Stone, Monte Stone, Leroy Ray, and Ron Patton and they are asked to meet at the funeral home at 9:30 A.M. Friday. Honorary pallbearers are Keith “Bo” Richardson, Ed Lewis, Wylie Moore, Laroy Causby, Curtis Reese, Jerry Edwards and Michael Johnson and they are asked to meet at the church at 10:45 A.M. Friday. On Friday the body will lie instate at the Church from 10:00 A.M. until the Funeral Hour. The family will receive friends at the Thomas Funeral Home from 5:00 until 8:00 P.M. on Thursday.
