Shannon Patterson

Mary Shannon Patterson, age 55 of Sugar Valley, GA, passed away on Monday, March 23, 2026 at Emory St. Joseph’s Hospice.

Shannon was born on February 18, 1971 in Dalton, GA, daughter of the late Phillip Wayne Padgett and Edna Mae Seritt. Shannon loved her job as an LPN at Calhoun Health Care, where she enjoyed taking care of her patients. She also enjoyed cooking and listening to country music. She was a member of Sugar Valley Baptist Church and loved her church family.

Shannon is survived by: her husband of 30 years, Greg Patterson; three brothers, Phil Padgett and his wife Sandy, David Padgett and his wife Chanda, and Daniel Padgett; nieces and nephews, Jessica Kelley and her husband Blake, Ezekiel Padgett, Elijah Padgett, and Weslyn Padgett; and a great-niece, Lorelei Kelley.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, March 25, 2026 from 4 PM until 8 PM at Thomas Funeral Home.

Funeral Services will be conducted on Thursday, March 26, 2026 at 2 PM at Sugar Valley Baptist Church with Reverend Mitch Phillips and Reverend Jim Sellers officiating. Burial will follow in Sugar Valley Baptist Church Cemetery.

Pallbearers serving include: Ross Quarles, Zack Bowen, Ezekiel Padgett, Blake Kelley, James Satterfield, Mike Linskey, and Elijah Padgett.

Honorary Pallbearers include: Dr. David Newby, and the staff of the U.S. Renal Center, Ashley Blaylock, Andrea Harmon, Jessica Nichols, Brooke Talley, Christina Thacker, Sharon Williams, Betsy Parker, and Montana Macia.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations in memory of Shannon be made to the American Kidney Fund at 11921 Rockville Pike, Suite 300, Rockville, MD 20852.
