Mrs. Nellie Jo Graham, 67 of Calhoun, passed away at her home today (Friday), August 4, 2006, following several months of declining health. 

Nellie was born in Bartow County on Dec. 30, 1938, daughter of the late John S. Evans Sr. and Emily Cook Evans. She was a homemaker and was of the Baptist Faith. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Fannie Lou Hall, and a brother, Roy Evans.

Survivors include one daughter, Thelma Sue Parker of Fairmount, and a son, Robert L. Sluder of Ranger. Her husband Charles Graham of Calhoun, three sisters and their husbands; Octavie and Gene Clark of Plainville, Frances and Junior Withrow of the Oostanaula Community, Bobbie and John White of Powder Springs, Ga., six brothers and their wives; J.S. and Betty Evans Sr. of the Folsom Community, Raymond Evans of Stilesboro, Dow Evans of Rome, Jerry Evans of Cartersville, Fred Evans of Plainville, and Tony Evans of Talbotton, Ga., four grandchildren; Ronald Parker of Calhoun, Melissa Parker of Fairmount, Linda Jenkins of Fairmount and Timmy Parker of Oostanaula. 11 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren. a very special friend, Janet Heard of Fairmount and Terry and Melanie Holland of Calhoun along with several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted at 4:00 P.M. Sunday, August 6th. From the Chapel of the Thomas Funeral Home with Rev. Gene Clark officiating. Interment will follow in the Fain Cemetery. Nephews will serve as pallbearers and are asked to meet at the funeral home at 3:30 P.M. Sunday.

The family will receive friends at the Thomas Funeral Home from 2:00 P.M. until 4:00 P.M. Saturday and again from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M.
