Resaca

Mrs. Patricia Burger, affectionately known as Pat, peacefully passed away on October 31st, 2023, in AdventHealth Gordon, leaving behind a legacy of love and faith that will forever be remembered. Born on July 20th, 1934, in Calhoun, GA, she was the beloved daughter of the late Rev. John Harvey Nix and Bertie Cooper Nix.

Patricia led a fulfilling life centered around devotion to family and community. She was a graduate of North Georgia Business College of Rome, GA in 1956. Alongside her beloved husband Clarence Manuel Burger, she co-owned and operated Burger's Market for many years. Their entrepreneurial spirit brought the local community together and forged lasting connections.

A woman of unwavering faith, Patricia was renowned as the number one prayer warrior. She found solace in the comforting words of scripture and spent countless hours reading the Bible. Her heavenly conversations were a testament to her unwavering belief in God's power and His unwavering presence in her life. Patricia's deep spirituality served as an inspiration to all who came into contact with her.

Patricia had a passion for gospel music that resonated deeply within her soul. The sound of hymns lifted her spirits and provided strength during challenging times. With an infectious love for life, she enjoyed going for car rides on Sundays with the "Sister Patrol" after church services—a shared activity that created cherished memories among friends.

In addition to her spiritual pursuits, Patricia delighted in shopping and had an innate ability to recognize beauty in flowers. Admiring their vibrant colors and delicate petals brought her great joy—a reflection of her own radiant spirit.

Patricia entered eternal rest surrounded by loved ones who will continue to cherish her memory. She is survived by her devoted husband of more than 68 years Clarence Manuel Burger; her loving daughters Tracy Burger Farriba and her husband Joe and Patricia Jill Hales; grandchildren Kasey Farriba and Lindsey Atwood and her husband John; as well as her great-grandchild Blakely Hall.

Her passing leaves a void in the hearts of many, but her legacy of love will live on through her surviving family and friends.

Patricia is reunited in the arms of her parents, Rev. John Harvey Nix and Bertie Cooper Nix, who have gone before her. She is also joined in eternal peace by her siblings Jay Nix, Rayford Nix, Charles Nix, Denver Hegwood, Jean Darnell, and Ann Prater.
