Patricia Ann Wood

Patricia Ann Wood, age 77, of Calhoun, passed away Tuesday February 9th in Advent Health Gordon. Patricia was born May 19, 1943 in Attalla, Alabama. She was a member of the Meadowdale Baptist Church and the Nellie Peters United Methodist Church. Patricia was devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, who loved to cook. She was preceded in death by her mother, Ira Gibbs Stephens and her daughter, Missy Ann Wood Shugart. Survivors include her husband of 62 years, Joe M. Wood, Jr.; one son, Todd Wood and his wife Jennifer; two daughters Tammy Bryant and her husband Scotty and Cathy Suzanne Phillips. Eight grandchildren, Keena Leanne Trapp, Trevor Bo Bryant, Darrell Phillips, Ted Phillips, Dawn Breanne Phillips, Kaleb Shugart, Anna Grace Wood and Kaitlyn Wood. Six great-grandchildren, Rali Ann Proffitt, Eli Proffitt, Jaylyn Phillips, Jyda Phillips, Jordyn Phillips, and Aiden Phillips also survive. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday February 11th at 2pm from the chapel of Thomas Funeral Home with Rev. Frank Wood Officiating. Burial will follow in Chandler Cemetery with Bo Bryant, Darrell Phillips, Tad Phillips, Glenn Phillips, Scotty Bryant, Kris Trapp, and Andrew Shattuck serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends from 11am until 1pm at the funeral home.
