Paulette "Polly" Peterson Gilbert

Paulette “Polly” Peterson Gilbert, age 74 of Calhoun, passed away on Wednesday, May 27, 2020 at her residence surrounded by her loving family. Polly was born on December 3, 1945 in Gordon County, GA, daughter of the late Kiker Peterson and Gertrude Miller Peterson. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her brother, Johnny “Pete” (Calhoun) Peterson. She was a member of Newtown Baptist Church. Polly was a loving mother, wife, mawmaw, friend, aunt and cousin. She loved her Lord and church family. Polly is survived by: her husband, Rayford Gilbert of Calhoun; daughter, Donna Rickett and her husband Mitchell, and Melissa Smith and her husband Travis; three grandchildren, Kenneth Rickett and his wife Sara, Kayla Rickett Brown and her husband Jacob, and Derek Smith and his wife Stephanie; four great-grandchildren, Heidi Rickett, Kolton Rickett, Aubrey Rickett, and Logan Smith; special aunt, Francis Robinson; and loving and special caretaker, Regina Gilbert. The family would like give special thanks to Tapestry Hospice and Cindy Talley. Funeral Services will be conducted on Friday, May 29th at 3 PM from Newtown Baptist Church with Reverend Walter Hare officiating. Seth Hunt will have charge of music. Pallbearers serving include: Kerry Robinson, Jacob Robinson, Tony Miller, and Bud Owens. The family will receive friends on Friday, May 29th from 1 PM until the funeral hour at 3 PM at Newtown Baptist Church.
