Penny Lee Bradley was born on September 25, 1967, in Sheffield, Alabama, the daughter of Elaine (Billy) Thomas and Harvey Griffin. She passed away peacefully on April 12, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of strength, warmth, and immense generosity.
Penny was a woman of remarkable character who found her greatest joy in life’s simple, meaningful moments. An excellent cook, she delighted in preparing meals for those she loved, using her kitchen as a place to bring people together. She was known for her generous heart, always ready to give to help others. Penny was a social soul whose favorite pastime was being surrounded by her family, sharing laughs, and having fun with friends.
She was the guiding light of her family. Following the loss of her beloved husband, Donald Ray Bradley, on April 18, 2025, Penny missed him deeply yet remained a pillar of support and a source of joy for her children and grandchildren.
She is survived by her daughter, Tabitha Bradley (Teddy King); her son, Dylan Bradley (Kayla Blaylock); and her cherished grandchildren, Emmry and Dutch Bradley. She is also survived by her sister, Sandy (Doug) Logan; her brothers, Joe (Sandy) Thomas and Bill (Sherry) Thomas; and her father-in-law, Dennis (late Donna) Bradley. Her memory will also be cherished by her brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Jimmy Bradley Sr., Bobby (Tina) Bradley, and Pam (Paul) Green; as well as her nieces and nephews, Olivia (Andrew) Brumbelow, Doris (Chris) Patterson, Donna Bradley, Erin Bradley, Isaac Logan, Josh (Alexandria) Green, Nathaniel (Kristen) Green, Jimmy (Tori) Bradley Jr., and Wayne Bradley.
Penny was preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, Donald; her parents, Elaine and Harvey; and her mother-in-law, Donna. She managed the complexities of life with a quiet strength, and her spirit of giving touched the lives of so many. Though she is now reunited with her husband, her influence will continue to be felt through the lessons of love, hospitality, and perseverance she instilled in her family. She was, and always will be, loved deeply.
A celebration of Penny's life will be held at Thomas Funeral Home in Calhoun, GA, on Thursday, April 16. Visitation will be from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM, and the service will begin at 5:00 PM.
