Randall Scott “Scottie” Chadwick, age 61 of Sitton Road of Calhoun, went to bed and woke up in Heaven on Wednesday, March 25, 2026.
Scottie was born on March 17, 1965 in Floyd County, son of the late Howard Chadwick and Mary Ida Thomas Chadwick. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by: his siblings, Pam and Barry Chadwick; grandparents, Carl and Gertude Chadwick, and Oscar and Ida Thomas; and brother-in-law, Don Cigainero.
Scottie’s life was filled with much happiness and joy. He enjoyed working on the farm. He loved to go on cruises with his sister and traveling out west and going to the mountains. He loved taking care of Jayden and Clark while Gina did her errands. He was always dependable and game for any adventure. He enjoyed going to eat out and grocery shopping with Rita. He loved his independence and being at home. He grew up on Hwy 53, where Harbour Freight in Calhoun is located. In 2000, his dad and late brother moved to grandmother’s farm on Sitton Road. He loved cutting firewood and making a “heater” he would call it.
For many years he cut grass with his dad and helped haul hay with his uncles. For the last few years, Scottie was his dad’s caregiver. The last six years, Scottie came and sat with Don until Don passed away in April 2025. He was there for his family, and they took care of him. Also, Scottie worked 24 years at Burton Rug and Mohawk. During his early years, he worked at Ramada Inn, Bonanza, and Golden Corral. He attended Gordon County Schools and Calhoun High School. Scottie was a member of Philadelphia Baptist Church and enjoyed Fridays at World Harvest Church. Over years Scottie met many friends always with a smiling face.
Scottie is survived by: his sister, Rita Cigainero; niece, Gina Cigainero Doss and her husband Charles; great-nephews, Jayden, Clark, and Chaz; one great-niece, Clara; numerous uncles, aunts, and cousins; as well as his dogs, cats, horses, goats, and his favorite dog, Andy. To all he was known as “Uncle Scott.”
