Reed Winston Davis

Reed Winston Davis, age 79, of Calhoun, GA, passed away on Thursday, August 17, 2023, at Atrium Floyd Medical Center.

Reed was born on January 30, 1944, in Gordon County, GA, son of the late Hughdon Davis and Pauline Owens Davis. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his son, Dr. Brent Davis, and brother-in-law, Larry Evans. Reed was a graduate of Calhoun High School in 1962. He was active in many sports including football, basketball, golf, and baseball. He was an avid Georgia Tech fan and golfer. Reed was a family man and enjoyed spending time with the love of his life, Anita, and their grandchildren. He was a member of Heritage Baptist Church and Calhoun First United Methodist Church.

Reed is survived by his wife of 55 years, Anita Evans Davis; daughter, Charlin Davis Hasty; daughter-in-law, Jennifer Stamey Davis; grandchildren, Taya Davis, Cana Davis, Savanna Davis, and Caroline Hopper and her husband Bryson; and one great-grandchild, Owen Hopper on the way.

The family will receive friends on Monday, August 21, 2023, from 11 AM until the funeral hour at 1 PM at Heritage Baptist Church.

Funeral Services will be conducted on Monday, August 21, 2023, at 1 PM at Heritage Baptist Church with Reverend Shane Parrott officiating.

Honorary pallbearers will include Phil Beamer, Caris Roland, Mitchel Owens, Max Hancock, Kevin Kinsey, Ben Fuller, Jerry Fuller, Darin Bentz, Jeff Jursik, Bob Windom, Pax Clark, Doug Schwalls, Tom Collinsworth, Jesse Vaughn, James “Cool” Steele, Criag Allyn, Kevin Kinsey, as well as members of the Sunset Country Club and the Calhoun Elks Lodge #1883.
