Reese Reid Barnard

Reese Reid Barnard, age 89 of Gordon County, GA, passed away on Thursday, March 21, 2024, at The Fountains of Calhoun.

 

Reese was born on January 12, 1935, in Gastonia, NC, the son of the late Charles C.   Barnard and Theta Thelma Reese Barnard. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Glenda Kay Shirley Barnard and a sister, Dwayne Barnard. Reese was a veteran of the United States Army. Before his retirement, he worked as an educator for Calhoun City Schools for over 32 years. He was a member of the Farmville United Methodist Church.

 

Reese is survived by his daughter, Kelli Maria Knight and her husband Todd; three grandchildren, Landon Knight and his wife Lisa, Sawyer Knight and his wife Kennedy, and Walker Knight and his fiancé, Laurel. 

 

The family will receive friends on Sunday, March 24, 2024, from 3 PM until 5 PM at Thomas Funeral Home.

 

Funeral Services will be conducted on Monday, March 25, 2024, at 11 AM from the Chapel of Thomas Funeral Home with Reverend Jim Pinkard officiating. Burial will follow in Fain Cemetery. 

 

Pallbearers serving are Landon Knight, Sawyer Knight, Walker Knight, Norman Seal, James Collins, Rickey Davis, and Terry Bunch.
