Roy Pickens Harris, JR

Roy Pickens Harris, JR, age 94 of Plainville, GA, passed away on Thursday, June 10, 2021 at his residence.

Roy was born on February 8, 1927 in Lafayette, GA, son of the late Roy P. Harris, SR and Bammie Cantrell Harris. In addition to his parents, Roy was also preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Betty Moore Harris; two brothers, Clifford Harris and his wife Betty, Fred Harris and his wife Opal; one step-sister, Pauline Stone and her husband Fred; and one grandson, Ricky L. Harris. Roy was a member of the Church of God of Prophecy in Shannon, GA. His hobbies were working on automobiles and building cars for himself. Roy worked at Reeves Transportation for 10 years, and retired once they relocated.

Roy is survived by: three children, Charles Harris of Plainville, GA, Bobby Harris, SR and his wife Debbie of Plainville, GA, and Linda Harris Carey and her husband Toby of Monroe, GA; eight grandchildren, Laurie Harris Lacey, Bobby Harris, JR, Tim Harris, Derek Harris, Duane Harris, Daniel Young, Dawn Cravens, and Dallas Franklin; 18 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; and three nieces.

Funeral Services will be conducted on Saturday, June 12, 2021 at 11 AM from the Chapel of Thomas Funeral Home with Rev. Craig Smith officiating. Interment will follow in Scott Cemetery in Plainville, GA.

Pallbearers serving include: Bobby Harris, Derek Harris Tim Harris, Duane Harris Austin Harris, Brody Harris, Daniel Young, and Cody Derosier.

The family will receive friends on Friday, June 11, 2021 from 5 PM until 7 PM at Thomas Funeral Home.
