Ruth "Mami" McAfee Cox

Ruth "Mamie" McAfee Cox, age 84 of Adairsville and formerly of Ranger, passed away on Friday, January 14, 2022 at Gordon Health & Rehabilitation.

Ruth was born on February 16, 1937 in Gordon County, GA, daughter of the late Jesse Port McAfee and Jessie Nichols McAfee. In addition to her parents Ruth was also preceded in death by one sister, Grace Townsend. Ruth was a long time member of Liberty Baptist Church and was a member of Fellowship Baptist Chruch in Plainville at the time of her death.

Ruth is survived by: one daughter, Dianna West of Adairsville, GA; one brother, John McAfee  and his wife Martha of Fairmount, GA; one sister, Frances Townsend of Fairmount, GA; three grandchildren, Kelsey Huggins, Kalie Huggins, and Carter Huggins; two great-grandchildren, Olive Hayes and Willow Hayes; and several nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of the Life of Ruth will be held on Sunday, February 27th at 2 PM from the Chapel of Thomas Funeral Home with Rev. Kenny Rogers officiating. 

The family will receive friends concluding her service. 

Due to the ongoing national health crisis, the family requests that face coverings be properly worn by all those who plan to attend.  

In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial contributions may be made to the Boys & Girls Club in Bartow County, GA.
