Sandra Carter Rollins, age 73 of Calhoun, passed away on Friday, July 8th at Advent-Health Gordon Hospital.
Sandra was born on March 13, 1949, in Gordon County to the late Fred Carter and Jean Dyer Carter. She was a graduate of Calhoun High School Class of 1967, and she was a Deans Award recipient at Floyd County College of Nursing. Upon graduation she was employed by Hamilton Medical Center and the Whitfield County Health Department. She was a Registered Nurse for over 39 years. She also volunteered her time at the Calhoun Pregnancy Center. Sandra was a devoted member of Freedom Baptist Church and also attended Mt. Calvary Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a brother, Johnny Carter.
She is survived by her husband, Robert Rollins; daughters, Rachel Rollins, sisters, Lynn Greene, and Sharon Greeson; brothers-in-law, Lamar Greene, John Rollins and his wife Kim, Tom Rollins, Joe Rollins and his wife Annie; honorary brother-in-law, “Gary” Edward Garrison Harris; sister-in-law, Jeanette Carter; niece Candace Green Chase and her husband Mike and their son Logan; nephew Kenny Carter and his wife Tonya; two grandchildren, Peyton Harris, and Heather Pritchett.
Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, July 12th at 3 PM from the Chapel of Thomas Funeral Home with Reverend Jether Cochran, Reverend Larry Peace, and Reverend Eddie Kirk officiating. Burial will follow in Fain Cemetery.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, July 12th at Thomas Funeral Home from 1 PM until the funeral hour.
