Shaun Ashley Evans, age 46, of Adairsville, Georgia, unexpectedly departed this life on June 7, 2026, at Piedmont Hospital in Cartersville, Georgia. He was born on October 11, 1979, at Floyd Hospital.
It is with profound sadness that we announce the departure of Shaun Ashley Evans, a beloved father, son, brother, uncle, friend, and faithful Christian whose life touched the hearts of many.
Shaun loved the Lord and lived his life grounded in his faith. He was an ordained minister and, for more than ten years, faithfully served as the youth pastor at Cup of Life Worship Center, where he poured his heart into the lives of countless young people. He loved each of them as if they were his own, offering guidance, encouragement, and unwavering support. The impact of his ministry and the relationships he built will continue to be felt for years to come.
Shaun’s greatest pride and joy were his daughters, Madylin and Ava. He loved them deeply and treasured every moment he spent with them. His love for his girls was unwavering, and they will forever carry his memory in their hearts.
Shaun was known for his kind heart, his contagious smile, and his unforgettable sense of humor. He truly never met a stranger. Whether someone had known him for years or had just met him, Shaun had a remarkable ability to make people feel welcome, valued, and loved. He would gladly give the shirt off his back to help someone in need and was always willing to lend a hand, offer encouragement, or share a laugh.
To know Shaun was to love him. He shared countless memories with family and friends that will be cherished for years to come. Whether through his faith, his friendships, his love for his family, or his passion for cars, Shaun had a special way of connecting with people and leaving a lasting impression on their hearts. His kindness, generosity, and genuine love for others will be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lewis Evans and Barbara Dutton Evans; his sisters, Cynthia Evans, Tami Karim, and Courtney Franklin; and his best friend, Brad Payne.
He is survived by his wife, Sarah McDonald Evans; his daughters, Madylin Evans and Ava Evans; his sister, Candi Lamb; nieces Kirstin Rogers (James), Leah Karim, Aniston Franklin, and Tiffany Franklin; great-nieces Willow Rogers, Nova Sisler, and Luna Sisler; nephew Hunter Franklin; great-nephew Samir Hammad; his brother-in-love, Marty Franklin; and his special aunts, Betty Jones and Virginia Stone. He is also survived by many cousins with whom he shared countless wonderful memories.
Shaun was blessed by the love and support of Scott and Denise Byars, who served as his youth pastors and God-parents following the passing of his beloved mother. He is also survived by dear friends John Kirby, Willard “Squeak” Cartwright, and Nathan Vaas, along with the entire North Georgia Stangs Car Club, where he enjoyed sharing his passion for cars and building lasting friendships.
Shaun was also a devoted father who remained an essential part of his daughters’ lives. He and the mother of his children, Teesha, shared 24 years together and, despite life’s changes, remained friends while working together to love and support their daughters.
A celebration of Shaun’s life will be conducted by Thomas Funeral Home and held at Remnant Church on Saturday, June 20, 2026 at 4 PM, with Pastor Andrew Hight, Pastor Preston Aker, and Pastor Scott Byars officiating.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, June 20, 2026, from 3 PM until 4 PM at Remnant Church.
Though our hearts are broken by his loss, we find comfort in the memories he leaves behind—the laughter he shared, the love he gave, his steadfast faith, and the lasting impact he made on those fortunate enough to know him.
Shaun’s memory will live on through the lives he touched, the youth he mentored, and through the love of his daughters, who were the center of his world.
