Shirley Jean Wilkerson Flowers

Shirley Jean Wilkerson Flowers, age 83 of Calhoun, GA, passed away on Tuesday, March 5, 2024 at Regency Park Health & Rehabilitation. 

Shirley was born on May 9, 1940 in Gainesville, GA, the daughter of the late Ransom G. Wilkerson and Lona Jarrard Wilkerson. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Thomalson Edward Flowers. Shirley was a devoted pastor’s wife and member of Plainville Church of God of Prophecy and was the mother of many churches throughout their pastoral lifetime in Georgia and Tennessee. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were her life. 

Shirley is survived by: one daughter, Pam York; two sons, Tony (Sonya) Flowers, and Shawn (Angelia) Flowers; five grandchildren, Bethany (Caleb) Gibson, Cameron (Katie) Flowers, Dylan (Kayla) Flowers, Brianna (Tyler) Wardlaw, and Victoria “Tori” (Cody) Parks; and eight great-grandchildren, Hayden Gibson, Harper Gibson, Hudson Gibson, Ryley Flowers, Maverick Flowers, Everly Wardlaw, Lennon Wardlaw, and Waylon Parks. 

The family will receive friends on Thursday, March 7, 2024 from 5 PM until 8 PM at Thomas Funeral Home.

Funeral Services will be conducted on Friday, March 8, 2024 at 2 PM from the Plainville Church of God of Prophecy with Bishop Clinton Fields, Bishop Ronnie Chandler, and Bishop Phil Minter officiating. Ronnie Langley will have charge of music. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Bishop Billy Adams in charge of graveside rites. 

Shirley will lie in state at the church an hour before the services.
