Suvera Stanfield Clark, 89, a beloved member of the community, passed away Tuesday October 17th in AdventHealth Gordon. Suvera was born on November 24, 1933, in Gordon County. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends.

Suvera was a woman of many talents and accomplishments. She graduated from Red Bud High School and went on to establish her successful business, Clark's Draperies, as the owner and operator for many years, Suvera's dedication and hard work made her a respected figure in the industry.

Aside from her professional endeavors, Suvera found solace in her faith as an active member of Echota Baptist Church. Her spirituality provided her with strength and guided her actions throughout her life.

While Suvera was known for her career and devotion to her church, she also had a vibrant personal life. She enjoyed reading immensely and could often be found engrossed in a good book. Sewing was another passion that brought her joy. Suvera's skillful hands created beautiful pieces that will be cherished by those fortunate enough to own them.

Suvera is survived by a loving family who will forever cherish their memories with her. Her husband, Ernest Edward Clark, shared a lifetime of love and companionship with Suvera until his passing. Their union was one of unwavering commitment and support.

She is survived by her son, Michael Clark and his wife "Charlie", daughter, Tonya Clark Payne and her husband Mitch, all remained devoted to Suvera and served as pillars of strength during difficult times. Their love and care were evident in every interaction they shared with her.

Suvera adored spending time with her grandchildren: Katie Garneau and her husband Cory, Jonathan Clark, Brandon Clark, and Katelyn Payne. Their visits brought joy to her heart, and she took great pride in their accomplishments. Suvera's legacy will live on through the memories they hold of their beloved grandmother. She is also also survived by her close friend and caregiver, Tania Davis. 

Suvera was preceded in death by her father, Samuel Arthur Stanfield, and her mother, Savannah Jane Hewitt Stanfield. While they are no longer with us, their spirits will forever remain intertwined with Suvera's.

Funeral Service will be conducted Thursday,  October 19th, at 4pm from the Echota Baptist Church with Rev. Lucas Butler officiating. Burial will follow in Chandler Cemetery. Donna Stanfield Gay will have charge of the music.

The family will receive friends at the church from 2pm until the hour of service.
