Timothy Elexander Smith

Timothy Elexander Smith, age 51 of Hixon, Tennessee and formerly of Plainville, Georgia, died in a one vehicle accident on Wednesday, August 5, 2020. Timothy was born in Rome, Georgia on June 9, 1969, son of the late Billy Nelson Smith and Betty Sue Stanfield Smith of Plainville, Georgia. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his grandparents, Fred and Irene Smith of Plainville, Georgia, and Russell and Martha Cochran of Shannon, Georgia. Timothy graduated from Model High School then joined the military and served for a number of years. He enjoyed making things out of wood and rock. Timothy had a big smile and a sense of humor. Growing up he always had people laughing and he never met a stranger. Survivors include: his children, Timothy Andrew Smith, Meagan Irene Sue-Ann Standridge, Christopher-Shane Smith, Caden Smith, Ethan Smith, and Skylar Smith; three grandchildren, Lilly, Madeline, and Hunter; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Billie Sue and Rickey Williams, Martha Genice and Carter Blaylock; one brother and sister-in-law, William Nelson and Glenda Smith; and several nieces and nephews also survive. The family will receive friends on Thursday, August 13, 2020 from 5 PM until 7 PM at Thomas Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers donations in memory of Timothy may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital at 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
