Truett Wilburn Moss, age 90, of the Ranger community, passed away Sunday morning September 6th in AdventHealth Gordon. Truett was born March 19, 1930 in Gordon County, son of the late Grover Downey Moss and Clara Kate Knight Moss. In addition to his parents, Truett is also preceded in death by: three brothers, G.D. Moss and his wife Alice, James Moss, and Sam Moss; two sisters, Julia Lou Hunt and her husband Lee, and Clara Bess Weaver and her husband Larkin; and a great-granddaughter, Savannah Jane Pryor. He was a member of the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church and co-owner of the Calhoun Insurance Agency. Truett was a veteran and a 65 year member of the Coosawattee Masonic Lodge #306 F&AM. Truett is survived by: his wife, Yvonne Welch Moss of Ranger; son, Truett W. “T-2” Moss; three daughters and sons-in-law, Kim and Rev. Eddie Kirk, Amber and Scott Lambert, and Jan and Tom Mitcheli; brother and sister-in-law, Lawrence and Margie Moss; grandchildren, Sheena Pryor and her husband David, Lyric Kirk, Ashlyn Kirk, Tyler Lambert, Anna Evans and her husband Justin, Reagan Micheli, Trusten Micheli, Truett Moss, III, and Alexis Moss; and three great-grandchildren, Taylor Pryor, Brayland Pryor, and Kherington Jones. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday September 12th at 3pm from the New Town Baptist Church with Rev. Larry Hibberts, Rev. Lamar Bearden, and Rev. Jamey Hunt officiating. Burial will follow in the Pleasant Hill Baptist Cemetery with Rev. Eddie Kirk in charge of graveside rites. Pallbearers serving are: Reagan Micheli, Trusten Micheli, Tyler Lambert, David Pryor, Truett Moss, III, and Justin Evans. Honorary Pallbearers are: Garry Moss, Elvin Glass, Richard Weaver, David Weaver, Greg Weaver, Chastain Moss, Shane Moss, David Peeler, and Mark Bryant. The family will receive friends Saturday September 12th at New Town Baptist Church from 9am until the funeral hour.
