Viola Rogers Owens

Viola Rogers Owens, age 85, of Ranger, GA, passed away on Monday, February 19, 2024, at her residence. 

Viola was born August 16, 1938, the daughter of the late Dewey Rogers and Myrtle Silvers Rogers. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by: her daughter, Julia Jones; one brother, Thurman Rogers; one sister, Patsy Rogers; and two brothers-in-law, Clyde Fowler and Robert Tillman. She was a lifetime resident of Gordon County, GA, and was of the Baptist faith. Viola was a loving and caring wife, mother, and grandmother. 

Viola is survived by: her husband of 66 years, Eugene Talmadge Owens; two sons, Michael Owens and Wayland Owens; daughter-in-law, Sally Owens; two brothers, Junior Rogers and Wayne Rogers; two sisters, Ruby (Gerri) Fowler and Addie Tillman; two sisters-in-law, Betty Rogers and Patricia Ann Rogers; grandchildren, Taryn (Brian) Osterhout and Dylan (Brittany) Owens; great-grandchildren, Alexis (Ross) Clifton and Kyla Osterhout; and friend, Mitchell McDougle.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, February 22^nd from 4 PM until 7 PM, and Friday, February 23^rd from 2 PM until 7 PM, and also on Saturday, February 24^th from 10 AM until 1 PM at Thomas Funeral Home.

Funeral Services will be conducted on Saturday, February 24, 2024 at 1 PM from the Chapel of Thomas Funeral Home with Reverend Chris Johnson officiating.
