Walter Martin (Marty) Munro, aged 77, passed away Tuesday May 18, 2021 at his home in Calhoun, GA after a long fight with kidney disease. Marty was blessed to be with his wife Hope Munro during his passing which was sudden and thankfully swift. Marty was the ultimate family man and jovial friend. After serving in the Air Force in Vietnam Marty went on to be an educator and then joined the GA Army National Guard to continue his service. Retiring from teaching meant he spend lots of time with his 8 grand children doing wood working projects and watching Jeopardy. Marty is preceded in death by his parents John Munro and Fannie Bell Butler Munro and a loving sister Georgia (Munro) Paradise. He is survived in death by his wife of 53 years Hope Munro, his two grown daughters, a son in law and 8 grand children. Hillary Munro, Malachi, Jonah and Revelation. Amelia and Cliff Lipscomb, Thoreau, Hadassah, Garrison, Araminta and Barnette.
Arrangements are being handled by Thomas Funeral Home of Calhoun, GA with a funeral at Calhoun Seventh-Day Adventist church on Sunday May 23, 2021 at 3:00pm with a visitation preceding the funeral at 2:00pm.
