Waymon Richard Hill, age 68 of Calhoun, passed away on Friday, July 8th at his residence.

 

Waymon was born on September 18, 1953, in Bremen, GA to the late Billy Jean Hill and Dorothy Mae Redding Hill. He was a veteran of the United States Army serving with the 1st of the 75th Ranger Battalion. Prior to his retirement he was the owner/operator of Southern Motor Works. Waymon was an avid Alabama Crimson Tide fan and in his free time, he enjoyed fishing. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers, Danny, and Glenn Hill.

 

He is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Cathy Hill; two sons, Tyler Hill and his wife Sarah of Calhoun, Todd Hill and his wife Denean of Bremen; eight grandchildren, Olivia Hill, Conner Hill, Colton Hill, Caleb Hill, Macie Coker, Melody Coker, Lydia Coker, and Silas Coker.

 

Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, July 12th at 1 PM from the Chapel of Thomas Funeral Home with Reverend Tommy Coker officiating. Burial will follow at Fain Cemetery with Trent Coker officiating. Military Rites are afforded by Fort Benning Honor Guard. Pallbearers serving are Bud West, Mike West, Billy West, Connor Hill, Caleb Hill, and Colton Hill.

 

The family will receive friends on Monday July 11th from 5 PM until 8 PM at Thomas Funeral Home.
