William R. Bagwell

Tuesday, June 26, 2007 Mr. William R. “Billy” Bagwell, Jr. age 77 of Calhoun died at 8:09 AM, Monday June 25 in the Doctor’s Hospital of Augusta following an extended illness. Billy was born, April 18, 1930 in Beaumont, California a son of the late Willian R. Bagwell Sr. and Elizabeth Manning Bagwell. Also, he was preceded in death by one sister Mary Holsomback, and was an Elder of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church and a veteran of the U.S. Army. Survivors include his wife of over 44 years Hazel Weaver Bagwell of Calhoun, one son and daughter in law; John and Allene Bagwell of Lawrenceville, one daughter and son in law; Jill and Chad Canady of Swainsboro, Ga. one sister; Margaret Greeson of Acworth, two brothers; Vincent and Jerry Bagwell both of Calhoun and four granddaughters; Lauren, Olivia, EllaKate, and Ava. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Thursday June 28th. from the Chapel of the Thomas Funeral Home with Rev. Clay Stephens officiating . Interment will follow in the Fain Cemetery. Nephews will serve as pallbearers and Gina Mears will have charge of the music. The family will receive friends at the Thomas Funeral Home from 5:00 until 8:00 P.M. on Wednesday.
