Mr. Winston Churchill Black

Mr. Winston Churchill Black, age 79 of Sugar Valley, Georgia, passed away on Thursday, June 18th, 2026 at Advent Health Redmond. 

Mr. Black was born in Cherokee County, Alabama on November 1st, 1946, a son of the late Millard Black and the late Lavada Wells Black. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Mrs. Nannie Sue Black; one son, Randall Black; three brothers, Wilburn, Harold, and Jimmy Black; four sisters, Patsy McGee, Mary Henderson, Carolyn Willoughby, and Alice Huneycutt. Mr. Black was an avid fan of the Atlanta Braves and Alabama Football. He loved fishing and spending time with his grandchildren. Mr. Black was of the Baptist faith. 

Survivors include his son, Greg Black (Tammy Johnson); one daughter, Susan Black (Tony Seacrest); two sisters, Ruth Anderson and Wanda Callahan (Jerry); three grandchildren, Savannah Frantzen (Tristan), Chandler Bartlett (Angel Barcone), and Caleb Bagwell (Chloe); two great-grandchildren, Xander and Aidan

Funeral Services will be held on Monday, June 22nd, 2026 at 2 PM in the chapel of Thomas Funeral Home with Rev. George Gray officiating. Interment will follow in Sugar Valley Baptist Church Cemetery. 

The family will receive friends on Monday, June 22nd, from 12 PM until 2 PM at the funeral home.
