Friday, April 20, 2007 Mr. Withers M. (Jack) Jackson age 90 of Calhoun, died Friday morning at his residence following several weeks of declining health. Mr. Jackson was born in Murray County, Ga. son of the late Walker McDonald Jackson and Rose Marie Withers Jackson and had spent his enrite live in Gordon County. He was a member of the Calhoun First Baptist Church and prior to retirement was Manager of Pates and Lays drygoods stores and was co-owner of Jackson’s Women’s Apparel. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by four sisters. Survivors include his wife of 64 years Sarah Frances Henson Jackson of Calhoun, one son and daughter-in-law; Billy and Carole Jackson of Centre, Alabama, two daughters and sons-in-law; Sara and Steve Yancey of Ranger and Mary and Donnie Darnell of Adairsville, grandchildren; Mickey Jackson of Pine Log, Ga., Candace Jackson of Atlanta, Stephanie Bennett of Ranger, Stephen Yancey of Ranger, Beth Hughes and her husband Jon of Peachtree City, Ga., Donna and Sam Chapman of Peachtree City, Ga., and Drew and Tommie Ann Darnell of Adairsville, great-grandchildren; Ashley and Morgan Bennett , Mary Beth Chapman and Hoyt Darnell. Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 P.M. Saturday April 21st. from the Calhoun First Baptist Church with Dr. Bert Vaughn and Rev. Doug Roebuck officiating. Interment will follow in the Chandler Cemetery. Pallbearers serving include Dr. Jason Crane along with Grandsons and Grandsons-in-law and they are asked to meet at the First Baptist Church at 1:45 P.M. on Saturday at which time the body will be placed in the Church to lie instate from 2:00 until 3:00 P.M. Honorary pallbearers include Hamp Alexander, Mike Willett, Charles Hyde, Eugene Butterworth, Bob O’Conner, Charles Green and Raymond Curtis and these gentlemen are asked to meet at the Church at 2:45 P.M. Saturday. The family will receive friends at the Thomas Funeral Home from 6:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. today (Friday). Doug Roebuck will have charge of the music.
